Defence IQ is proud to welcome you to its Countering Drones programme, the only portfolio of conferences
that address the emerging security and safety threats associated with commercial, off-the-shelf unmanned systems.
Whilst drone technology presents significant opportunities for a whole host of applications, their proliferation has emerged as a
significant threat to public security, critical national infrastructure, and military operations. In the civil sector, police, regulators, airports,
prisons, energy facilities and other high-security installations are seriously concerned about both the accidental and malicious misuse of unmanned vehicles.
Meanwhile, reports from eastern Ukraine and Syria indicate that small UAS are emerging as a unique type of guerrilla airpower, used in
both attack and reconnaissance. Industry are beginning to respond to these concerns, yet questions remain about their necessity, legality and effectiveness.
To explore these challenges, Defence IQ has developed a unique portfolio of events that seek to
bring both civilian and defence communities together to better define and equip themselves for this threat.
